Leeds and Bradford Teacher Training | Exceed SCITT


Welcome! Looking to train to be a teacher? Exceed SCITT is part of Exceed Teaching Schools Alliance in Bradford and, as an accredited provider can recommend you for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). In addition we have an established partnership with Leeds Trinity University who deliver the Post Graduate Certificate of Education enabling you to graduate to a PGCE with QTS.

We work with a range of training providers that can meet your needs and surpass your expectations! We’re focused on delivering high-quality school-led Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providing Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) to recruit to future teacher vacancies. All our provision is led by schools and staffed by teachers. 100% of our programmes are delivered in schools. We know your training needs and will support you to become a great teacher!

Our Programmes

Our programmes are distinctive as the schools in which you will train provide the staff to deliver training and design each programme with the support of Exceed SCITT, they are tailored to the age range you choose to train in. As each programme is unique we urge you to look closely at each one. You can apply to more than one programme from us.

The Bradford & Keighley Primary Programme 3-7 & 5-11

Aimed at those wanting to train as a primary school teacher in Bradford and Keighley this programme is:

  • Led by the ‘Outstanding’ Copthorne and Horton Grange primary schools,
  • Offers both salaried and fee-funded/(unsalaried) places. We also recruit for the PG Teaching Apprenticeship.
  • Offers a dedicated 3-7 and 5-11 programme

The Leeds Primary Programme 3-7 & 5-11 (Westerton Partnership)

Our Leeds Hub also supports trainees to train as a primary school teacher in Leeds:

  • Led by the ‘Outstanding’ Westerton primary school
  • Offers fee-funded/unsalaried training places
  • Offers a dedicated 3-7 and 5-11 programme

The Bradford Primary with SEND Programme 5-11 (Shanidar School Direct)

  • Led by the ‘Outstanding’ Southfield Special School
  • Offers fee-funded/unsalaried training places
  • Offers a dedicated 5-11 programme
  • Offers opportunity to experience and train within both mainstream and special provision across Bradford, Keighley, Leeds and Skipton
