Personalised high-quality initial teacher training in Bradford

Exceed SCITT

Exceed SCITT, like a university, is accredited by government to be a provider of initial teacher training (ITT) and to award the important Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) you need to become a qualified teacher. Exceed SCITT also awards QTS to its partners who offer School Direct programmes: Exceed Partnership, Bradford South Partnership and Westerton Partnership. We can tell you more during our free local briefing events.

Exceed SCITT can also recruit trainees directly to its programmes; these are referred to provider-led places. In reality, the Exceed SCITT and Exceed Teaching Schools Alliance programmes are identical, they operate as the Bradford Hub, they work with the same schools in Bradford and Keighley and the trainees on both these training routes train together. Exceed SCITT was formed in 2016 building on the successes of Exceed Teaching Schools Alliance’s School Direct programmes over the 6 years before it was accredited as a school centred initial teacher training (SCITT) provider.

The training places available

Exceed SCITT offer the fee-funded/unsalaried training route. The School Direct Salaried training route is only available via Exceed Partnership at the Bradford Hub. Further fee-funded/unsalaried places are available in Bradford via Exceed Partnership and Bradford South Partnership, and in Leeds via Westerton Partnership.
